about matthew ciampa of treasure socksOur Story

Hi, I’m Matthew Ciampa, and I’m passionate about helping keep children with food allergies safe!

I’m a 12th grader at St. John's Prep who enjoys sports, math and new ideas. I’m also one of six million children in the United States who lives with a life-threatening food allergy. That means I need to carry my medicine with me every time I leave the house and sometimes that’s tricky for a kid. When I was 12 years old, I struggled because there was no easy way to carry my epinephrine with me all the time.

Where do you keep your allergy medicine while on the go?

That’s why I invented Treasure Socks. These socks have a secure pocket so kids like you and me can simply and safely carry our “treasures,” like our medicine, money, keys, ID, mouthguard or retainer.

As a young entrepreneur, I’m so grateful for the many people who have helped and supported me on my journey so far! Thanks to the help of the Young Entrepreneurs Academy, Berkeley Business Academy for Youth and MassChallenge for guiding me on my journey as a young entrepreneur, my idea is becoming a reality.

As excited as I am about creating this new product, the best part of this experience so far is being able to raise awareness about food allergies. That’s why a portion of each pair of Treasure Socks sold will be donated to Food Allergy Research and Education (FARE).
